Aloha
Hi! I'm Bronwyn, also known as BB.
Growing up, I always knew I wanted to learn about other cultures. In my college years, I studied Mandarin Chinese which included getting educated about Taoism and Buddhism. Graduating with my bachelor's degree in Chinese Language and Culture, I thought that I'd continue my education and become a professor of the Chinese Classics, specifically related to Taoism. However, life had other plans---which is another story beyond the scope of this bio!
At age 30, I attended my first yoga class. After five years of practicing yoga, I added Ayurvedic wisdom to my routine.
Despite all of this great knowledge and a university degree, I still didn't have a main purpose in life.
Fast-forward to the end of my 30s. After more than two decades of study and in-depth exposure to Eastern and Western philosophies and psychology, an incredible blessing landed in my life.
Initially I couldn't fully see the blessing. What happened was that at the end of 2020 I received my first Vedic Astrology reading. Even though I went into the session with skepticism, it was nuanced enough to touch me profoundly. To get the detailed story of how I became a Vedic Astrologer, keep scrolling!
For the last four years my sole focus in life has been learning to be an ethical and accurate Vedic Astrologer, and so I've spent in-excess of 2,000 hours training in the highest quality program available. In 2025, I was certified as a Vedic Astrologer through the Asheville Vedic Astrology Apprenticeship program.
Interwoven into my Vedic Astrology work and my yogic lifestyle, I practice the path of Kriya Yoga daily. I also maintain the spirit of Aloha in my heart. "Aloha" means Love, and I find that Love and frequent remembrance of the Divine through meditation are crucial for me to live an optimal life.
I value courageous honesty and truth, patience and compassion. I also love to laugh! Not in a ridiculous way, but in a way that encourages more joy, lightheartedness and connection.
Currently, I’m residing in the continental United States without a permanent location. My life partner and I are delightfully living as "digital nomads."

How Vedic Astrology Accelerated My Thriving
I used to think that astrology was just made-up nonsense. I had only been exposed to tabloid horoscopes and just plain bad astrological predictions. Part of me always wanted to believe there was something to astrology, but it seemed like most people just made stuff up. I had no idea from where they were getting their information.
Then one day, a new friend asked if she could give me a Vedic Astrology reading. Although skeptical, I agreed. Most of what she shared in my reading had just enough accuracy that I had to give it merit. It was also much more psychologically sophisticated and comprehensive than I expected; she didn't just stereotype me based on my Sun Sign!
Months passed after that reading and I didn't think much more about it. I was finding myself at a time in my life where many of my goals, ambitions and interests had fallen away. Some on purpose, some not. Desperation for greater purpose and meaning---something I had struggled with for decades---was building to an all-time high within me. Already approaching middle age, I knew that taking a normal job wouldn't be fulfilling. I had so many gifts to share and no idea how to apply them.
After a discouraged (but incredibly sincere) cry out to the Universe for guidance for my next step in life, only six days later a strange and uncharacteristic thought entered my mind: Become a Vedic Astrologer.
"What? No. No way." ...was my mental response to this thought. I ran from it. I leapt over mountains to get away from it. And yet, this thought of becoming a Vedic Astrologer seemed to effortlessly catch up to me and tackle me to the ground. As I lay mentally surrendered to this idea, only a single next thought arose: "What do I have to lose?"
I recalled the Vedic Astrology reading my friend gave me and realized I still had more questions, and a genuine interest in astrology that surprised me. I contacted her and she agreed to teach me what she knew. After a few lessons, we both realized that I had great aptitude for this topic because of my prior decades of studies in psychology and philosophy. It was apparent that I needed to find a teacher who could continue my education beyond what she could instruct me in.
While I sought out a more experienced teacher, I ordered Vedic Astrology books based on my friend's recommendations and (for reasons I still can't explain) intuitively also bought Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramhansa Yogananda. Once Autobiography of a Yogi arrived, my partner and I read it aloud to each other every night over the course of a couple months. By the time we finished it, I was so inspired that I rekindled and recommitted to my previously-abandoned Kriya Yoga sadhana.
After about a month of dedicated daily Kriya Yoga practice, I began to see a noticeable shift in the kind of astrology resources I was finding. My magnetism for higher quality information was increasing. It was at that time that I received several "nudges" from the Universe to check out the free 52-course introduction to Vedic Astrology by Ryan Kurczak. I went through each lesson, found his methodologies and philosophies grounded and applicable to real life, and knew I had found my astrology teacher. He's also a Kriya Yoga teacher in the lineage of Paramhansa Yogananda, which I valued. Not too long after Ryan's introductory course, I signed up for his Asheville Vedic Astrology Apprenticeship program and dedicated most of my days for the next 3.5+ years to studying and practicing Vedic Astrology as a student.
A side note: Learning Vedic Astrology at the level that Ryan teaches it isn't just 1+2=3. It's a transformational, ego-destroying, life-affirming experience. At least, that's how it was for me. I had spent the majority of my incarnation being a caterpillar who felt like something explosively awesome was lit inside of me, but untapped. Committing to the entirety of the Asheville Vedic Astrology Apprenticeship Program became a chrysalis stage. Today I see and feel my butterfly-ness, and I continue to expand my open "wings" unceasingly.
So what makes Vedic Astrology attractive to me over other kinds of philosophical or psychological approaches? Like no other system that I've found yet, Vedic Astrology brings objective awareness to who I am and how I'm positioned in this world. Not only psychologically, but even more so on the level of the Soul. It's a tool for improving life and for simultaneously finding the perfection in life as it is. By studying and practicing Vedic Astrology, a lot of my previous mental and spiritual static has subsided and I live a clearer, more expansive life on the outside and on the inside. My capacity for self-compassion and compassion towards others has increased tenfold. This is just the tip of the iceberg of what true freedom can mean. By being a mindful practitioner of Vedic Astrology, I get to witness how other people arrive at their own freedom and expansiveness as well.
Integrating Kriya Yoga also accelerates how I thrive every single day. Kriya Yoga and Vedic Astrology are inextricably linked together in my life.
Now I find myself practicing Tropical Vedic Astrology as a certified Astrologer in total gratitude and appreciation. I offer astrology readings on a regular basis, and continue my education in this incredible art & science so that I may be of greater service to humanity.
One last, but very important, thing to mention is the abundant love, support and inspiration of my beloved life partner. He has been a champion of Satya, Dharma and Prema for me through everything over the last decade, and has fully stood behind my journey in Vedic Astrology. We constantly upgrade each other, ever spiraling upward! My personal commitment to truth, rightness and love stays especially strong and buoyant because of our dynamic.
With this in mind, I look forward to being of service to you in your life so that you---and everyone who you're connected to---may thrive. Let's bring more light, kindness and loving awareness into this world together!
